Celexa tablets are used to treat major depressive disorder (MDD) in adolescents, but only in adolescents with insomnia. It has also been used off-label for the management of anxiety and tension in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over. This medication should only be used under specialist supervision.
A small number of adolescents have tried to take Celexa for anxiety. Some have given Stoastic / cocaine add-on therapy and/ or failed to respond to the treatment. There have also been cases of overdose and/or jaundice. Children and elderly people should not be taken on the advice of their doctor.
